By installing the Solutions Brush Pile System™, exterior noise can be significantly reduced by way of our perimeter brush pile seals that are incorporated around the air gaps of the window thus reducing the noise entering through the air gasps. It’s very similar to sitting in your car with your window slightly open; close the window and you instantly notice the noise reduction!
To reduce noise further, existing panes can be replaced with modern, acoustic glass which produces very good results or vacuum glazing which has excellent acoustic properties with the added benefit of providing U values which exceed triple glazing.

Yes, we recommend our restrictor locks which meet the requirements of your insurance company, offer excellent security against break ins which have the added benefit of being able to leave your windows slightly open for ventilation without compromising security. Also a great option for safety on upper floor windows.
For timber sash windows, the main “options” are usually about the type of coating system and the level of sheen, rather than a specific brand. We will talk you through your options during your consultation.
Yes, we have a keen eye for detail and pride ourselves on being able to match existing period mouldings, section sizes and paint finishes. There are a multitude, if not an infinite amount of period mouldings that we have encountered over the last twenty six years and if we need to match a new one, we can make spindle moulder/router cutters to achieve this.
Yes, the design of replacement windows within a conservation area will affect planning approval. It is important to replicate the original materials, section sizes, glazing bar details and horn details.
Double glazed or vacuum glazed, replica windows are often permitted but the design detail is important. Councils often differ in their requirements and it is sensible to contact your local conservation officer to understand what may be permitted in your area. If you decide to repair, service and install the Solutions Brush Pile System™, planning approval is not required.

Changing the exterior colour of your windows within a conservation area or a listed building will require consent/ approval as it may be deemed to affect the properties original period design/ street scene.
You would not normally require consent or approval to replace hardware/ironmongery within a conservation area as long as the replacements are suitable, period style replicas and are not a visible change as seen from the exterior. Changing the colour internally in a conservation area does not require permission but may do if your building is listed. It is always best to consult your local council as they do vary considerably in what they permit and will also depend on your individual property and its location.
